Today has been an amazing day celebrating my 2nd wedding anniversary with my hubby, Hleku. We spent the day at a lovely hotel by the Vaal River and later spent some time by the Vaal Dam. It’s been an awesome two years in marriage with tonnes of lessons (to be shared on another day), God has really been great to us and I honestly would choose him all over again if given the chance. Before I get too mushy let me get back to my original purpose of this post… Since December is wedding season in these parts of the world and today was my anniversary I decided to share a few hairstyles that natural bride with TWA’s (or longer hair) could use for their big day.
My hubby took all the pics, thanks babe!
Let me know which is your favourite 🙂
1. The Free ‘Fro
Do it like Solange and Free your ‘fro on your big day 😉
And from now on the rest of the hairstyles will need you to add Marley Hair if you don’t have the length required.
2. The Regal bun
I love this style an I added a string of pearls for that extra oomph.
3. The Twisted Halo Bun
This was my Hubby’s personal favourite, it’s very cute and fit for a bride. I’ll drink to that!
4. The Ponytail with 3 flat twists
You could do more than 3 flat twists for this one but I quite like the feel that a few twists give to his look.
5. The Side Swept Ponytail
Last and certainly not least is my favourite hairstyle. I absolutely love it and I was feeling myself all the way through the shoot, it’s perfect for the edgy bride. Nothing like a birdcage net to just bring it! Booyah!
Please like and share this post with your Natural friends, thank you all for you support

These styles are all so beautiful but the free fro wins it for me, that’s definitely what’s going in down on my big day, I’m thinking a nice headpiece would kill it.

OMG! Girl! You did such a fantastic job of creating the styles on yourself and the hubby did an even greater job of taking such beautiful shots! I am absolutely going to reblog in the near future. We all know it takes time, energy and effort to take photos for blogging and I am super impressed that you did all 5 looks yourself. High 5 girl!
PS – Happy Anniversary *-*

Solange has liberated many black brides to embrace their natural hair on their big day. Personally I do not know a lot of black brides who embrace “nappy hair.” I am sharing this post by my good friend Princess Ofie in the hope that many will have the courage and desire to embrace their coils.
Black child, it is possible 🙂

Hey hun. I want to replicate the Twisted Halo Bun for work on Monday. Please can you walk me through the process? Do you remember how many packs of hair was used to create it? Thanks in advance 🙂

Hey There Nikki, I used one pack only. So I parted my hair into 3 sections; two in front and 1 at the back and I tied it up. I then tied one end of the marley hair and twisted it all the way to the bottom. I secured the tied end to the back pony and pinned it around my head making sure to hide the two front ponytails and then tucked the rest of the marley hair at the back after my whole head was covered. Hope it makes sense… Let me know if you need a pictorial 😉

I originally posted this to my blog in April 2015 but in switching back from .org to .com has left my most resent posts out in cold. So, when its nice, you do it – over!
